The Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, also known as “China Optics Valley”, has launched its new English-language website on March 20.

The website is divided into seven sections, including a Media Center which features what is new in Optics Valley with an international perspective. The Communities section provides a guideline for foreign visitors to the zone’s hotels, attractions, entertainment, restaurants and schools.

The other sections, including Overview, Industrial Parks, Doing Business, Enterprises and Contact Us, provide a brief introduction to the parks, the industry layout, major projects, top enterprises and investment advantages of Optics Valley.

The East Lake High-tech Development Zone, established in 1988, is home to a group of 16 state-level industrial bases, such as an optoelectronic industry base, a biological industry base and a geo-spatial information industry base. It is accelerating the development of emerging industries and has formed an industry system that features optoelectronic information, bio-medicine, energy conservation and environmental protection, high-end equipment manufacturing and high-tech service industries. Part of China (Hubei) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone is China’s second National Innovation Demonstration Zone after Zhongguancun Science Park, and one of the first demonstration bases for mass entrepreneurship and innovation.

The website is built by chinadaily.com.cn, the flagship website of China Daily. By using China Daily’s English language advantages on the website, the zone hopes to increase its popularity by linking to newspapers and websites that are understandable to foreign readers. The new website will expand its international influence as it depicts the integrated industrial chain and considerable investment opportunities of Optics Valley.
