Five entrepreneurs from OVC featured in 2026 Hurun U40 list
The Hurun Research Institute has released its fourth "Hurun China Under40s 2026" list, highlighting six entrepreneurs from Wuhan, with five hailing from the Optics Valley of China (OVC). The list aims to identify pioneering entrepreneurs under 40 in China and connect them with capital, industry, and government resources.
OVC's distinguished individuals include Huang Sheng from Guide Infrared (Guide Electronic), Xiao Su from Neurophth Biotechnology, Li Meng from Prime Meridian Group, Pan Tao from MLOG Technology, and Leng Wei from Jiahe Info.
Notably, Huang Sheng of Guide Infrared (Guide Electric) was recognized not only in the U40 list but also featured in the "Hurun China Rich List 2026" released on Oct 27.
This year's entry criteria were based on entrepreneurial categories: first-generation entrepreneurs needed to have founded companies valued at over $100 million, while second-generation successors needed to manage sales or investment assets exceeding $200 million. Among first-generation entrepreneurs, four from OVC were acknowledged, spanning sectors such as life sciences, meteorological technology, and agricultural digitization.
The Wuhan-based companies on the list focus mainly on core technology and innovation, aligning with OVC's strategic development in "optics, chips, displays, terminals, and networks" and the health industry cluster.
According to a Hurun official, core tech and AI enterprises are becoming key areas for young entrepreneurs, with emerging talent in robotics, large models, and innovative pharmaceuticals.
