Tech tourism in Optics Valley of China (OVC) surged during the recent National Day holiday, with key attractions such as the Optics Valley SkyRail and the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center drawing large crowds.

At the Optics Valley SkyRail Gaoxin Avenue Station, visitors from across the country lined up to experience the "Cyber Optics Valley". Reports indicate daily passenger numbers exceeded 10,000, with over 100,000 visitors during the holiday period.
The country’s first 7S humanoid robot store, located in KIC PARK, welcomed more than 3,000 visits during the holiday period alone.

To accommodate the influx of tech-tourism visitors, OVC's commercial districts embraced "cyber" elements, offering a tech-infused experience in dining, shopping, and entertainment. The newly renovated World City Optics Valley Pedestrian Street remained one of the most crowded areas, with the commercial district receiving over 3.2 million visitors in seven days.
Other commercial areas in OVC also launched various activities to enhance the festive atmosphere. For instance, a parade of people in hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) appeared at Wuhan Poly Plaza, which saw an average daily footfall of 34,000 during the holiday.

Although the National Day holiday has concluded, OVC's popularity is set to continue with the 2026 Wuhan Open, which will be held from Oct 10 to 18 at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center and is expected to attract nearly 200,000 visitors.
