The 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue·Wuhan and Wuhan International Friendship Cities Cooperation Conference took place from Sept 18 to 21, attracting over 80 foreign representatives from 22 countries and two international organizations, focusing on deepening exchanges and cooperation in areas such as science and technology, industry, and culture to promote mutually beneficial development.

This event created a high-end urban diplomacy platform, facilitating international exchange and mutual understanding. To date, Wuhan has established friendly relations with 127 cities across 64 countries, continuing to enhance its international influence and openness.

According to Wuhan's 2026-2030 development plan, the city is concentrating on building an international exchange center, while the city’s land, sea, and air transport channels continue to expand, with China-Europe freight trains, international shipping, and dual airport passenger and cargo networks covering multiple Eurasian countries, providing robust support for foreign trade and economic cooperation.

Wuhan's collaborations with international sister cities are advancing steadily, with numerous Sino-French, Sino-German, and Sino-British projects in clean energy, ecological construction, and high-end manufacturing taking root. The city's competitive industries, such as optoelectronics, are steadily expanding overseas.

Through initiatives like the "Evergreen Sister Cities" and "Home in Wuhan" projects, Wuhan continues to optimize international services and business environments, earning several national honors for its sister-city work and actively participating in global urban governance.

Wuhan regularly hosts international exhibitions and high-end events, attracting over 300 Fortune Global 500 companies and maintaining robust foreign economic activity. The city aims to further expand its global cooperation network and deepen international collaboration across multiple fields, striving to become a high-level inland hub of opening-up.
