Among the 21 demonstration parks selected nationwide, Biolake stands out in the biomanufacturing sector for its top-tier capabilities and industrial concentration. The base has attracted over 4,200 companies, including three industry-leading enterprises with revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.49 billion), nine local publicly listed companies, and 560 high-tech enterprises. Impressively, more than 90 percent of Hubei province's Class I new drugs approved for clinical trials originate here.
Among the 112 demonstration enterprises listed, three OVC enterprises are Wuhan Polytechnic Digital Communication Engineering Co, Cabio Biotech (Wuhan) Co, and Wuhan Dameng Database Co. They have been acknowledged for their work in artificial intelligence, biomanufacturing, and software, respectively.
The National Emerging Industry Development Demonstration Base initiative, launched by MIIT in 2025, aims to select domestic industry parks and enterprises with leading capabilities and seeks to set benchmarks, foster growth, and cultivate new quality productive forces in emerging industries.
