Optics Valley of China (OVC) has launched the "AI Guangzi Initiative" to attract talent in cutting-edge fields such as large models and AI infrastructure, AI agents, computer vision, and humanoid robots. Over the next three years, the initiative aims to attract and nurture 408 AI talents across various levels, including leading figures, innovative talents, outstanding engineers, and young professionals.

The initiative plans to select four leading talent teams globally each year, recognized for significant innovation and industrial influence. The team leaders will be designated as leading figures, with the option to recommend up to three core members over two years as 3551 high-level talents. These teams can receive up to 5 million yuan ($744,955) in support.

Ten core technical experts with over three years of experience in the AI sector will be introduced each year, with each receiving 1 million yuan in support. Additionally, 10 outstanding engineers who obtain the advanced FDE certificate will be attracted and cultivated annually, with 500,000 yuan in funding support for each engineer.

The initiative also targets recruiting 100 young professionals annually in the critical areas of AI chips, intelligent sensors, and humanoid robots. Each young PhD holder will receive 200,000 yuan in support, and OVC will establish exclusive talent profiles to ensure ongoing talent services.

Since the beginning of the year, OVC has been enhancing its talent development system, implementing key policies such as introducing major AI innovation and entrepreneurship teams and a fast-track recommendation channel for AI talent. This has helped build a robust "AI Guangzi Initiative" talent policy matrix, providing strong support for attracting talent to the AI industry in the zone.
