Optics Valley of China (OVC) has been included in the Ministry of Commerce's list of National Digital Trade Demonstration Zones as the sole representative from Hubei province.

The Ministry of Commerce initiated the National Digital Trade Demonstration Zone project in 2026 to benchmark high-standard international economic and trade rules, creating hubs for digital trade development with higher levels of opening-up, dynamic institutional innovation, and an optimized business environment.

OVC has continuously promoted the deep integration of service trade, service outsourcing, and digital trade. With a solid foundation and distinctive features, new business models have emerged, leading to steady growth in the zone's digital trade scale. The zone also launched the country's first cross-border trade-specific channel pilot and optimized QFLP pilot measures to facilitate foreign capital investment. 

Policy support includes introducing specialized software, technology, culture, and artificial intelligence policies. Regular overseas digital trade training sessions and business matchmaking events have been held, enhancing OVC's digital service brand.

OVC aims to strengthen its distinctive digital trade clusters, develop a world-class computing-in-memory and data industry hub, and improve comprehensive public services and overseas service systems for digital trade, bringing "OVC services" to the global stage.
