OVC companies showcase innovations at World Robot Conference

Seventeen companies from Optics Valley of China's (OVC) embodied intelligence industry chain are showcasing innovations at the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing from Aug 19 to 23.

These companies offer a wide range of products spanning entire industry chains, including complete machines, general models, perception and navigation technologies, and key components. Several groundbreaking new products have also made their debut.

In the complete machine category, GigaAI Robot unveiled the "Shiguang S1", a versatile humanoid robot for home use. It is equipped with the self-developed GigaWorld model and GigaBrain embodied brain, making it the first global deployment of a general-purpose wheeled humanoid robot in real home settings.

QiRobotics introduced the "Chitu" quadruped robot, featuring an extreme load capacity of 120 kilograms and a battery life of 4 to 8 hours, designed for firefighting and power inspection.

Maxnova Technology launched the "NAO Mini" educational robot, standing about 40 centimeters tall with 18 flexible joints. It includes a large model voice interaction system and a tiered programming platform, suitable for both family companionship and AI education.

Currently, the embodied intelligence industry in Hubei province has surpassed 40 billion yuan ($5.95 billion), with over 140 companies in the humanoid robot industry chain, more than 60 percent of which are based in OVC.

OVC has launched the Hubei humanoid robot industry investment fund, with a total value of 10 billion yuan, and integrated over 1,000 real-world scenarios in healthcare, elderly care, industry, and cultural tourism to accelerate the transition of technological products from laboratory to market.
