National standards for humanoid robot testing methods launched in OVC
The kickoff meeting for the "Humanoid Robot Testing Methods" series of national standards was held in the Optics Valley of China (OVC) on Aug 13. The meeting marked the simultaneous compilation of seven standards, covering general principles, environmental perception, decision-making, planning, motion control, and more.

Over 200 industry representatives attended the event, including leading companies such as Unitree Robotics, Xiaomi Robotics, Magiclab, and ZTE Corporation, as well as academic institutions like Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
During the event, the Humanoid Robot and Embodied Intelligence Standards Working Group was officially established. The first batch of committee members includes 29 institutions such as the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, Wuhan University, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Two OVC companies are participating in the formulation of these national standards. CX Robot Connect is leading the drafting of the standards for positioning and navigation, making it the only major company from Hubei. Huaweike Intelligent Technology is a key participant in the formulation of environmental perception standards.
Experts at the meeting noted growing competition to shape standards for the emerging humanoid robotics industry. The development of national standards in Wuhan reflects the growing role of OVC companies, which are moving beyond simply following industry standards to helping shape them.
