OVC to establish urban terminal
Wuhan Tianhe International Airport Co and Optics Valley Traffic Investment Group Co have signed an agreement to jointly develop the Optics Valley Urban Terminal, which will be located at the Optics Valley Transportation Building in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
As the first urban terminal in Hubei province, the project will enable OVC residents to enjoy "one-stop check-in, direct luggage transfer, and seamless transit" right at their doorstep.

OVC is home to numerous high-tech enterprises, dozens of universities, and a population of over 1 million. The zone sees a high concentration of international business travel and academic exchanges. Previously, travelers had to leave for Tianhe Airport well in advance. After the launch of the urban terminal, they will be able to complete check-in in OVC, significantly reducing travel time.
To enhance travel convenience, the urban terminal will feature check-in counters, a lounge, and a cultural display area. Services will include airport check-in, direct luggage transfer, luggage security checks, and flight inquiries. Travelers can obtain boarding passes and check luggage here before taking a shuttle to the Tianhe Airport.
For flights to major destinations like Beijing and Shanghai, passengers need only arrive at the airport 15 minutes before departure to clear security and board.
Qu Xiaoni, head of Marketing at the Tianhe Airport, noted that the terminal will also offer customized services, including dedicated shuttles for group travel.
