The Cheeloo-1 storage system, developed by the Parallel Data Storage Lab at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST PDSL) in collaboration with Huawei's distributed storage team and the Jinan Institute of Supercomputing Technology, has retained its position as the world leader on the IO500 10-node Research list, recently unveiled at the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) 2026 in Hamburg, Germany.

Since setting this world record in 2023, Cheeloo-1 has withstood numerous challenges from top international teams, firmly maintaining its global lead. This achievement underscores China's continued leadership in autonomous supercomputing storage technology.

The IO500 list is a prestigious benchmark in the high-performance computing field, released annually at the ISC in Germany and the Supercomputing Conference in the United States. It comprises two categories: Production and Research. The 10-node Research list specifically evaluates systems using 10 compute nodes to perform comprehensive read and write tests, serving as a key indicator of innovation in storage technology.

Lu Kai, a core team member, emphasized that they will continue to collaborate with industry partners, develop original, industry-applicable innovations, and further advance high-performance storage technologies.
