Optics Valley firms named among China’s top 100 software companies

Three Optics Valley firms, Navimentum, Wuhan Tianyu Information, and Wuhan BJC Technology, made the 2019 list of China's Top 100 Software and Information Technology Service Enterprises at the 23rd China International Software Expo held in Beijing on June 28.

According to the Technology and Innovation Bureau of the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, the industrial strength of Optics Valley lies in a number of fields, including embedded software, industry informatization, geo-spatial information science, and database and information security. 

There are currently more than 2,000 software and information service enterprises in Optics Valley, among which 300 are considered “key” enterprises and 107 are major enterprises with an annual income of over 100 million yuan ($14.57 million), creating over 150,000 local jobs.

The business income of Wuhan's software industry skyrocketed from 36.5 billion yuan in 2012 to 180 billion yuan in 2018, with the Optics Valley of China contributing over 130 billion yuan to the 2018 figure. 

Last March, Wuhan was honored as the“China Software City”by the State Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is the first such city in central China.

Statistics show that the 100 companies on the list made nearly 1.24 trillion yuan in 2018, a year-on-year growth of 16.9 percent and 2.7 percent faster than the industry's average growth rate in China.
