A commemoration activity marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China Wuhan Overseas Scholar Business Park was held at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Nov 28.

Affiliated to Optics Valley Financial Holdings Group, the business park focuses on providing incubation services for projects developed by returning overseas Chinese.

In 1998, only 11 returnees started conducting businesses at the park, which has since attracted nearly 2,000 returnees.

The park has incubated more than 70 national high-tech companies.

Attendees at the event included representatives from Foreign Affairs (Overseas Chinese Affairs) Office of Hubei Provincial People's Government, administrative committee of Optics Valley, and dozens of companies in the zone.

Some directors of the zone's companies also delivered speeches at the event, sharing their experiences of starting businesses in the park, such as Chen Lili, president of Wuhan Easydiagnosis Biomedicine Co Ltd, and Li Miao, general manager of Wuhan COBOT Technology.

In the future, based on the financial advantages of Optics Valley Financial Holdings Group, the business park will improve its "incubation + finance" service mode, and explore lower-cost and higher-quality incubation service for small and middle -sized enterprises.
