The third medical device (MD) registration verification and post-marketing supervision summit forum was recently held in Wuhan, central China's Hubei province.

At the forum, the first MD testing institute and CMO (Contract Manufacture Organization) platform in central China was unveiled, marking the Optics Valley of China having a complete system providing MD technical transformation services.

The project is initiated by Wuhan Tacro Technology Co Ltd, a leading company in MD technical transformation sector in the country, which is based at the Biolake in Optics Valley.

Launched in the beginning of 2017, the testing institute and MD manufacturing center cover an area of nearly 7,000 square meters, with investment exceeding 100 million yuan ($14.42 million).

The project include five laboratories, namely electromagnetic compatibility laboratory, electrical safety laboratory, environmental and reliability testing laboratory, aseptic packaging testing laboratory, and clean laboratory testing laboratory, as well as three production lines.

It provides solutions for MD R&D and manufacturing companies ranging from design, development, and compliance consultation to post-marketing production.

Not only serving as an important technical support platform for MD industry at the Biolake, the project also boosts development of device sector in Optics Valley.
