Work on five projects begins in Optics Valley
Construction work on five major projects worth 9.8 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) began in East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China), Wuhan, central China's Hubei province, on Sept 10.
Officials from the zone and representatives of the projects attended the commencement ceremony.
Among the five, the World City project is located in the south of Shendun 3rd Road and north of Wangyue Road, and will create an area featuring shopping, leisure, entertainment, education, and healthcare.
The Orsun Times project, adjacent to Gaoxin 2nd Road in the south and Gaoxin Avenue in the north, will build an ice and snow sports complex integrating entertainment, business services, tourism, and sightseeing.
It is expected that the project will be finished in 2019 and become a training center for ice and snow sports for teenagers in Hubei province.
And the Yucheng special zone project, located at the intersection of Gaoxin Avenue and South Yishan Road, will build a high-level national innovation hub by introducing highly-skilled professionals and advanced technologies from all over the world.
It will also introduce high-tech enterprises and financial institutions to Optics Valley.
