A total of 18 professionals from companies in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) were selected for the "Hundred Talents Program" of Hubei province, according to a list released recently.  

The list included professionals from universities and companies, among which 23 were company professionals, and 18 from Optics Valley of China accounted for 80 percent of the total. 

In addition, the only professional in financial innovation was from a company in Optics Valley of China.

The "Hundred Talents Program" of Hubei province was launched in 2009 to encourage and attract high-level professionals from overseas to start businesses in the province.

This year, the selected company professionals worked mainly in the areas of emerging industries, including optoelectronics, information technology, life sciences, new materials, and energy conservation.
