Premier Li Keqiang visited Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Hubei province on Dec 11, and heaped praise on Optics Valley and China (Hubei) Pilot Free Trade Zone Wuhan Area for promoting efficient e-government.

China (Hubei) Pilot Free Trade Zone Wuhan Area officially opened on April 1 in the core area of Optics Valley of China, covering an area of 70 square kilometers.

The free trade zone has been working to promote e-government, and now company staff can deal with affairs related to industry, business, tax and social insurance via a mobile app called “government affairs assistant”, which includes facial recognition technology.

During his visit to the free trade zone, Premier Li asked visitors at the government affairs service center whether they had installed the mobile app.

After confirming that visitors were making use of the new app, Li said that online services not only provide convenience for the public, but also ensure security of information, as the whole operation process is placed on file.

The next step should lay emphasis on the goal of “online administration is normal, while offline is exceptional”, Li added.

The premier also inspected smart city construction in Wuhan at the service center. The city takes full advantage of big data and has built 71 smart application systems covering areas of urban management, healthcare, elderly care, and education.

The local managers showed off a smart traffic platform to Premier Li, which gathers the city's traffic and parking space data, providing real-time congestion forecasting and parking guidance.

Li pointed out that Wuhan has two rivers and three towns, with very complicated traffic in the city. Making good use of big data can both effectively ease the city's congestion and make the city "smarter”, so as to better serve the public.

The company has nearly 800,000 registered domestic and international professional translators, providing translation services in over 60 languages.

The company translates for a full range of activities, including business negotiations and foreign movies introduced to China, as well as translating Chinese literature into other languages.
