The 8th “China Statistics Open Day” in Wuhan was held at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) on Sept 20, attracting more than 300 company delegates.

The “China Statistics Open Day” was initiated by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2010, and this year’s activity aims to promote steady and healthy economic growth.

Optics Valley of China, together with Qiaokou district and Jianghan district, are Wuhan’s three pilot areas for statistics research.   

As a national pilot, Optics Valley of China has started to gather statistics on three strategic emerging industries including the new generation of information technologies, health care, and intelligent manufacturing.

Optics Valley of China possesses pilot companies in three emerging industries which account for around 45 percent of Wuhan’s total.
