Wuhan Open to take place in Optics Valley

The Wuhan Open is to be held at Optics Valley International Tennis Center from Sept 22-30 in Wuhan, Hubei province. 

As one of the main sponsors of the competition, East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) is making full preparations, and will have an exhibition stand at the center, providing free gifts for spectators.

The Wuhan Open, together with the China Open and Shanghai Masters, are top tennis competitions in China. From 2014 to 2028, the Wuhan Open will be held annually each September. 

Altogether, 43 players from 22 countries qualified for the women’s singles, including seven Grand Slam singles champions –– Petra Kvitova, Garbine Muguruza, Angelique Kerber, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Francesca Schiavone, Jelena Ostapenko and Sloane Stephens.

To ensure smooth and safe traffic for visitors during the competition, the Wuhan Open section of Gaoxiner Road has been upgraded from a two-way four-lane road to a two-way eight-lane road.

Five free Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) special lines will be added for the convenience of spectators, traveling between Jiayuan Road BRT Station and Optics Valley International Tennis Center, starting two hours before each day’s first match and ending at 7:00 pm.

In addition, around 3,400 free parking spaces are being provided for spectators during the competition.
