The Ministry of Science and Technology has built a state key laboratory of biomass thermal chemical technology based on the company, which has Grade A qualification of environmental engineering design, consultation, marketing and electricity engineering (thermal power plant)design. Moreover, the company owns Wuhan Kaidi Engineering Technology Research Institute with a state key laboratory, national enterprise technology center and post-doctoral science research workstation as its main structures. 

The company now has technologies such as biomass IGCC technology, acousto-optic complementary power generation technology. It owns more than 200 patents and over 3,000 specified technologies.

Sunshine Kaidi New Energy Group Co Ltd has major business in four fields, including biomass oil and gas, biomass power generation and environmental protection. Its technology to synthesize fuel oil through biomass gasification has taken the international front. 

The company’s commercial demonstration assembly line, the first 10,000-ton-class of its kind in the world, has put into operation in January, 2013. The assembly line has successfully transformed the agricultural and forestry wastes into high-quality and clean fuel used for aviation. 

The company’s research strengthen and marketing share have taken the leading role in the electricity environmental protection sector, and was selected as a backbone enterprise in Chinese environmental protection industry by China Association of Environmental Protection Industry for consecutive years.
